Aim. Ahead of registration for the main FCG OIL AdM Hack this launch and networking event will provide an overview of the hack that will take place on the 3 & 4 April 23 and networking to allow for collaborative teams to form.
Format. Following a presentation outlining the approach a speed dating format will be used so that all attendees can pitch to each other about their capabilities and exchange contact details. After the event teams will be invited to register to take part in the Additive hack on 3 & 4 Feb 2023
Context. Recent operations in Ukraine have identified that the industrial manufacturing base of a nation is critical to success of future operations. DE&S’ focus is moving away from large procurements to operations and is dependent on putting UK PLC on a campaign footing while the Defence Supply Chain Strategy is looking to create resilience through multiple points of near shore suppliers. The concept of global logistic hubs provides the opportunity for production closer to point of consumption reducing the carbon footprint of distribution while inter regional supply in a star network configuration increase resilience.
Intent. Exploit and demonstrate mature Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) High Value Manufacturing, Digital Engineering, and Additive Manufacturing Capabilities and how they can contribute to the realisation of Support Advantage.
Objectives. Using a diverse and dispersed team reverse engineer a part so that it has the same fit but has reduced weight and or part count. Demonstrate:
