National Supply Chains have seen significant disruption due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and recent events in Ukraine. Such challenges have been no less acute for Defence and have necessitated a review of our supply-chain approach and the underpinning value proposition.
Accordingly, Defence Support and Defence Commercial have worked together on the development of a Supply-Chain Strategy (SCS) that explores such themes and seeks to articulate how a ‘resilient by design’ Strategic Supply Chain needs to adapt to Global conditions. The Def SCS assumes such conditions will be enduring and proposes several conceptual head-marks to the way in which Defence approach Supply Chain outcomes and interactions with its commercial partners.
The Strategy will soon be made available on GOV.UK
There will be an industry launch event on 17 November 2022, the agenda is still being finalised but currently includes presentations from the Minister of Defence Procurement and Director Joint Support
While physical attendance is by invitation only the presentations and Q&A will be live streamed. The teams link will be shared with all those who register.
