Digital Engineering requires significant changes in how products and systems are developed, produced, maintained, and decommissioned. While OEMs and their Tier-1 suppliers, in general, can keep up with these developments, companies further down the supply chain tend to be left behind. This tends to slow development processes down, impede service & maintenance, and make compliance unnecessarily difficult.
